The Baseball Zone's Featured Athlete
This week's player of the week is no stranger to The Baseball Zone & SST; His name is Andrew Showler of Mississauga.
Andrew came to us as a 14 yr old who - let's just say - needed some work! Andrew was pitching in the high 50's to low 60's, which for that age group is far behind the curve if you have high hopes for yourself.
However, as we have discovered, Andrew is not afraid of hard work. In fact, you can say that his goal for each session with us is to work harder than his last session. The effort never wanes from this young man in any of his 3-5 sessions with us each week.
In recent testing with our High Performance Program Andrew was able to throw 84mph off the mound and 86mph on a step behind drill. Andrew is a living, breathing example of what hard work and dedication to training can do for someone. It doesn't matter where you start from, you can always get better if you are willing to work.
Andrew most recently played with the Oakville Junior team and continues to train with us at The Baseball Zone & SST. He is currently working towards obtaining a baseball scholarship for Fall 2010.
Congratulations Andrew! Keep up the hard work. You are a leader of many other young men.
Sincerely,
All Staff
