The Baseball Zone's Featured Athlete
Congratulations to Quinn Hall for being this week's TBZ player of the week. Quinn has been training with us for a couple of months now in a Private Lesson program. In her initial 8 session program Quinn made some great strides forward in her development. Some of her objective measurements improved as seen below:
Broad Jump (lower body explosiveness) increased by 5%
Side-to-Sides (Core strength and rotational explosiveness) increased by 6%
These improvements translated into an increase in bat speed of 5%
Quinn recently went down to a College Showcase in North Carolina. We were hopeful and confident that her increased bat speed - along with improved visual tracking and swing plane – would serve her well. Quinn certainly delivered! She hit the ball extremely well, including a homerun for many recruiters to see. After returning from her trip, she received a few offers for Scholarships.
After a visiting a few schools it was time to make a decision. We are proud to announce that Quinn has accepted a scholarship to Newberry College (http://newberryathleticsite.com/sport.asp?sportID=11) and will be enrolling in the Fall of 2010. Newberry College is a Division II program that competes in the South Atlantic Conference. It is located in Newberry, South Carolina and is a four-year school.
Quinn continues to train with us at The Baseball Zone, and is continually working towards being the best player she can be.
Congratulations Quinn!
Sincerely,
All Staff
