The Baseball Zone sadly joins the rest of the Ontario baseball community in mourning the loss of Troy May, owner of the Oshawa Dodgers of the Intercounty Baseball League.
May founded the Oshawa Dodgers in 2002. He was the field manager for the team during its first four years before stepping down to become the third base coach this year. May was also an active member of the IBL board and committees and was president of Oshawa Minor Baseball.
May coached baseball for more than 20 years, winning more than 600 games. He guided the Oshawa Junior Legionnaires for nine seasons, including 1999 when they won the Junior Elimination Tournament and became the first junior team in Oshawa's history to go the Canadian National Championships.
May is survived by his wife and two young boys. The boys were also seriously injured in the accident and remain in hospital.
