Great Weekend at Provincial Eliminations
Wow! What a weekend the provincial eliminations turned out to be. Some great battles in all age groups with some very happy and outstanding teams emerging that will represent Ontario at the National Championships. Congratulations to all participants!
And The Baseball Zone was very proud of a great number of many of its past and present pupils. We had great representation at the Peewee finals from both the champion Georgetown Eagles and runner-up Mississauga Majors. A number of Eagles have spent time here at The Zone as have many of the Majors. We also had the privilege of training the Majors as a team this past offseason in a hitting program. In addition, TBZ student Carson Kelly from Markham was invited to help Georgetown bring home the gold from the Nationals.
In the Bantam group, three of the top four teams have a lot of TBZ marks on many of their players. The Mississauga Majors spent the past offseason in our High Performance Program and the growth in each of the players was phenomenal. The North York Blues had most of their players in a private hitting and pitching program with us the past two years (and more for some of them), while the runner-up Mississauga North Tigers have had a great number of players with us in the past in various team and private programs. Also, Jordan Boston of the Mississauga Majors and Patrick Harris of the North York Blues were asked by champion Tecumseh Thunder to join their team at the Nationals.
In the Midget group, champion Team Toronto and runner-up Mississauga North Tigers both have a great number of players that have been through group and/or individual programs here at The Baseball Zone the past 4 years, including our High Performance Program. Let's bring home the championship this year Team Toronto and make it a 3-peat for Ontario at the Midget Nationals as well as a sort of 3-peat for The Baseball Zone - we have had the privilege of working with the past 2 National Midget Champions, Mississauga Southwest (2006) and Brampton (2005).
Congratulations and best of luck to all players this weekend and beyond!
